Roberta Barnhart, 88

Roberta "Bobbie" Lee Mitchell Barnhart, 88, passed away peacefully on Jan. 9, 2025, at St. Patrick's Hospital. 

Roberta Lee was born in Garfield, Washington on March 7, 1936, to parents Robert and Berta Mitchell. The family moved to Anaconda, where Roberta graduated from high school. She worked for the Anaconda Copper Smelter until she retired in 1980. 

Roberta raised two sons, Kris and Scott Zeier, in Anaconda. On Jan. 1, 1981, Roberta married Oren J. Barnhart. She welcomed Oren's three adult daughters, Verlaine VanAtta, Gayle Reeves, and Vickie Eggen and their families, to her life. Oren and Bobbie made their home in Columbia Falls and Kalispell. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary (2006) with all their children, family and friends in attendance.

Bobbie moved to Missoula after Oren passed away in 2008 to be closer to her son, Scott and her granddaughters, Hollie Zeier and Lindsey Zeier Thomas. 

Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, Oren J. Barnhart; her parents; son, Kris Zeier; daughter, VerLaine VanAtta and sons-in-law, Chuck Reeves and Clint VanAtta.

She is survived by son, Scott (Vickie) Zeier; daughters, Gayle Reeves and Vicki (Roger) Eggen and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on June 14 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia Falls.
