Law roundup: Noisy neighbor interrupts bear’s all-you-can-eat buffet
Ambling along Council Bluffs Drive, a bear found its breakfast buffet interrupted by a noisy neighbor. The resident scared the bear off, but not before it had rummaged through several garbage bins and knocked at least one over.
A concerned bus driver phoned the police for help in tracking down a dog they clipped while shepherding a busload of kids around town. The pooch ran off after the collision and the driver was worried it might need aid. The black and brown dog was last seen running east on Eighth Street.
Officers handled a late afternoon fender bender in a Nucleus Avenue parking lot. No one was injured in the crash and the damage to the vehicles was described as minor. The motorists exchanged information.
Authorities kenneled a black and white husky lab mix after it was found with a collar but no tags. They planned to alert animal control in the morning but received a phone call about a missing dog not long after. Officers reunited the pup with its owner.
Describing his wife as going from "acting normal to being completely out of it," a husband told officers he suspected she had taken fentanyl.
