Mission Valley falls to Frenchtown in Dillon tourney opener

DILLON — Liam Wexler’s squeeze bunt in the top of the seventh brought in the winning run as the Frenchtown Broncs defeated the Mission Valley Mariners 3-1 Friday at the Maybelle Arthur Memorial Tournament. 

Dawson Rodoni added an insurance run for the Broncs later in the seventh. 

Paxton DuMont drove in the lone run for the Mariners (11-13) on a single to right field in the bottom of the sixth, scoring Cody Haggard. 

Haggard took the mound for Mission Valley, throwing a complete game and scattering six hits. He fanned seven. 

Rodoni threw three innings in relief for the Broncs, striking out five and allowing just one hit.
