AI restrictions
I am writing to urge people to write their senators and representatives to let them know that if they do not take out the parts of the budget bill that do not allow there to be any restrictions by states on AI platforms that we will know who they are not representing (the people!) and will throw them out of their jobs.
I also disagree with cutting programs for the poor, disabled, energy transition and elderly. I fail to understand how anyone professing to be a Christian can cut services for the poor in order to funnel more money to the rich.
But the no restrictions for 10 years on AI will have so many negative consequences that it makes me shudder to think about.

Due process
Due process refers to the legal requirement that the government must respect all legal rights owed to a person, ensuring fair treatment through the judicial system. It is enshrined in the 5th and 14th Amendments of the U.S. Constitution, which protect individuals from arbitrary government actions that could deprive them of life, liberty or property.
When a violation of due process offends the rule of law, due process protects individuals from government harm.
The rule of law has definitely been offended.
Masked and heavily armed ICE agents indiscriminately snatch people off the street, out of businesses and smash car windows dragging people into unmarked vehicles. They refuse to identify themselves or produce a warrant.
The vast majority of these people are not criminals and have done nothing wrong. These are the people who pick our crops in the fields, work in the service industry, meat processing plants and construction. These industries are powered by immigrant workers. Mostly jobs Americans are not interested in doing.
Sadly, these people are having to teach their children what to do if they do not come home.
This unconstitutional mandate which has been ordered by the White House is immoral, inhumane and downright evil.
