Loyola, Florence advance to title game; Eureka stays alive

HAMILTON — Saturday’s girls Western B divisional championship game is a District 6B showdown as Missoula Loyola and Florence earned semifinal wins Thursday.


In the first semifinal, Florence cruised past Mission 56-39, while Loyola downed Thompson Falls 69-32. 


On the other side of the bracket, Eureka stayed alive with a 44-37 victory over Darby and Anaconda eliminated Superior.

Ali Manhold led a balanced Florence team with nine points as the Falcons raced past Mission in the first semifinal 56-39. 


Kendal Manhold, Jaden Fisher and Kenzy Pickering tallied eight points apiece for the Falcons, who advance to play Missoula Loyola in the championship Saturday at 6:30 p.m. 


Cora Matt scored a game-high 14 points for the Bulldogs, who take on Anaconda Saturday at 9 a.m.

Spencer Laird scored a game-high 20 points and Addie Nault added 17 as Missoula Loyola downed Thompson Falls 69-32 in the second semifinal. 


The Breakers advance to Saturday’s championship against Florence at 6:30 p.m. 


Gabi Hannum led Thompson Falls with 12 points, the Blue Hawks take on Eureka Saturday at 9 a.m. at Hamilton Middle School.

Brynn Kossman led the Lady Lions with 16 points and Brynn Miller added 15 as Eureka advanced to Saturday morning’s loser out games, they will take on Thompson Falls at Hamilton Middle School at 9 a.m. 


Hadley Heiland scored 17 points to lead Darby.

Makenzie Reum led Superior with 15 points. Josie Crabb tallied 11.
