Ah March you are a wild hare! Tis the time of year to be prepared with three seasons of layers and a fair bit of patience for "real" spring to bloom in Northwest Montana. March gives us a great opportunity to celebrate and gather with festive St. Patrick's Day festivities, Gem & Mineral Shows, film festivals, and a smattering of unique events to fundraise for our beloved nonprofits. Keep those rubber boots and party dresses handy!
Get ready to wear your green and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the 4th Annual Cloverfest in Columbia Falls! It's the biggest celebration of the season, brought to you by the Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce.
Join us on Saturday, March 15th, 2025 for a fun-filled day packed with live music from local musicians, the lively sounds of bagpipes, and a 5K run, plus a 1-mile fun run for the whole family!
Enjoy food trucks, a beer garden, themed competitions, and a kids’ carnival full of excitement and shenanigans!

Brannigan's Pub goes all out for St. Patrick's Day weekend with their Under The Tent celebration. The fun leprechaun kicks off on Friday March 14th from 4:00 to 11:00 pm in downtown Kalispell as Comatose Posse, K'Niption Fit and Chance Cole provide the tunes to accompany your green beer.
Saturday March 15th, make Brannigans your first and last stop on the Downtown Kalispell Pub Crawl starting at 1:00 pm. Make an afternoon of visiting your favorite local watering holes and make your way back to Brannigans for live music by Buffalo Speedway, Archertown and Kenny Bowling.
But save your sea legs for Monday, March 17th celebration of St. Patrick's Day proper as our local traditional Irish pub, Brannigans hosts a party complete with Celtic dancers, Irish sessions, live music with Chance Cole and Randy Marshall. Take advantage of Brannigans day-long food and drink specials as you merry the day away reveling in your good luck.
How much sparkle can a Rockchuck chuck? Find out at the 18th Annual Gold, Gem and Mineral Show on Saturday, March 22nd and Sunday, March 23rd at the Flathead County Fairgrounds. Enjoy the show on Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and on Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Your entrance fee of $5 gives you access to both days and kidlets middle school age and younger are free.
The Rockchucks Rock Club and NW MT Gold Prospectors put on a gem of a show complete with live demos, silent auctions, door prizes and an interactive kid's corner.
The Gold, Gem and Mineral Show offers a great family-friendly event for those looking to add a little luster to their weekend.
Monday March 10th plays host to a special offering by the Kalispell Kiwanis. A rare opportunity to see our talented students perform as their Jazz Bands. Flathead High School sets the stage from 6:30 to 8:00 pm as Whitefish High School, Glacier High School, Stillwater Christian School, Kalispell Middle School, Flathead High School, and Columbia Falls and Bigfork High Schools show off their hard work jazzing it up.
The next installation of the Wilderness Speaker Series is set for Wednesday March 19th at 7:00 pm at Flathead Valley Community College. This series brings timely and interesting wilderness topics to the valley. In this session, Teagan Tomlin, of Glacier National Park presents on "If Rocks Could Talk: The Geological History of Glacier National Park."
Pop into the Northwest Montana History Museum on Monday March 24th at 7:00 pm for a Glacier Park Update with Pete Webster the Deputy Superintendent of Glacier National Park. Get prepared for what to expect this year at the park with this wide-ranging discussion presented by the Glacier National Park Volunteer Association.
Support your favorite town to lift transportation on Saturday March 29th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the S.N.O.W. Bus Brewfest. For $25 presale or $35 at the door collect your commemorative cup and revel in the Village of Whitefish Mountain Resort tasting beers and swapping best runs.
The Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation brings the MountainFilm on Tour to Flathead Valley in both Whitefish and Bigfork. This film tour brings a selection of culturally rich adventure-packed and inspiring documentary films. Head to the Bigfork Center for Performing Arts on Friday March 7th or to Whitefish's O'Shaughnessy Cultural Arts Center on Friday March 14th to fill your cup with stoke and wonder. Films are the same for both locations and doors open at 6:00 pm.
