Fundraiser dinner and silent auction planned to support FVCC logger sports team

| March 6, 2025 12:00 AM

Flathead Valley Community College’s logger sports team will host a prime rib dinner and silent auction to raise funds to cover travel expenses for its upcoming season on March 13.

Founded in 1972 by Hugh Adams and his son Eyler Adams, who continues to serve as one of the team coaches. Logger sports is the only intercollegiate sports team at FVCC.

The team has achieved tremendous success over the years, including 14 championships at the prestigious Association of Western Forestry Clubs Conclave, an annual competition among post-secondary schools west of the Mississippi. In 1998, FVCC made history by becoming the first two-year college to ever win the championship and is still the only college to win five championship titles in a row.

The team will compete this spring at the 85th Association of Western Forestry Clubs Conclave, hosted by Colorado State University, and the University of Montana Pro-Am competition at Fort Missoula.

Beyond their competitive successes, the logger sports team’s biggest achievement has been their dedication to giving back to the community, according to a press release. Each year, team members participate in the Family Forestry Expo and volunteer with organizations like the Knights of Columbus, United Way, Adopt-a-Highway, and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, among others.

“Logger Sports is not just about competition; it’s about community,” said Ann Beall, team leader for the FVCC Logger Sports team. “We are proud of our legacy and accomplishments, but we are also committed to supporting the Flathead Valley. This event is a great way to bring everyone together to help ensure our team continues to thrive, both in the sport and within our community.”

The prime rib dinner and silent auction is scheduled for 6 p.m. March 13 at 6 p.m. on the lower level of the Arts and Technology building at FVCC, 777 Grandview Dr., Kalispell. The prime rib dinner will be catered by D&T BBQ.

Tickets are $25 per adult and $10 per child 12 and under. Tickets are available now at fvcc.edu/logger.
