EUREKA — Eureka got a team sweep of its own TerriFic and FanTastic track and field meet, and a couple State B qualifiers at the same time on Friday.

Jesse Day won the javelin at the triangular meet with a throw of 166 feet, 4 inches. That leads Class B and meets the state qualifying standard. Day also won the shot put and was second to Noxon’s Ricky Williams in the discus.

Williams, meanwhile, had Friday’s most impressive mark: He cleared 6-4.5 to win the high jump. The height leads all classes in this young season and is well above the Class C qualifying mark of 6-1.

Williams also won the long jump (20-9), triple jump and the 110-meter hurdles.

Eureka won the boys team title with 70 points. Noxon was next at 39 and Troy followed at 13. It was the same order on the girls’ side: Eureka (77 points), Noxon (26) and Troy (24).

Eureka’s Emmett Manges won the boys 100 and 200 titles, and teammate Josh Lambertsen took the 400 with a time of 54.19 seconds. Lambertsen also cleared 11-9 to win the pole vault.

The Lions also had wins from Benjamin Hughes (3,200), Cole Sartori (800, in 2:05.1), Benjamin Byers (300 hurdles) and both relays.

Troy’s Michael Gillespie won the 1,600.

The Eureka girls saw Karli Campbell clear 9-0 to win the pole vault and meet the state qualifying standard. Campbell also won the high jump Friday.

The Lions also had Kricket Bridges sweep the 100 and 200, and teammate Lauren Goodrich took both hurdles and the 800. Zoey Hanson won the discus and shot put.

Noxon’s Sandy Bonney won the javelin and long jump. Abby Yoder won the 400 for the Red Devils.

Troy’s Jaylee Meyers won the 1,600 and 3,200 and teammate Cortenie Rogers won the triple jump.
