California-based Willow Stephens returns to Kalispell to open for concert headliner, KT Tunstall, at the Wachholz College Center May 4.

Raised in the Flathead Valley, Stephens got her musical start in Flathead High School’s music programs, where she built a foundation that would carry her into a career as a singer-songwriter. Her soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics have captivated audiences from coast to coast, blending R&B, jazz and indie pop into a signature sound that’s both timeless and fresh. Her return to perform at Wachholz marks a true homecoming show for the Flathead community.

“I had KT Tunstall’s ‘Eye to the Telescope’ on heavy rotation in high school. It was a very formative record for me and was definitely a big impetus for me picking up a guitar and starting to write my own songs," Stephens said. “There was never a real venue in Kalispell when I was growing up. We had to drive several hours across state lines to get to concerts. This feels like such a full-circle moment.”

A rising voice in indie pop and soul, Stephens brings her signature blend of warm vocals, thoughtful lyrics and genre-bending instrumentation to the stage. Now based in Southern California, Stephens has been making waves with her introspective sound and dynamic performances. She has headlined the Troubadour, toured the West Coast and had her music featured in TV and film. She has also built an international community of fans livestreaming on Twitch.

Scottish singer-songwriter, Tunstall, burst onto the music scene with her multi-platinum 2004 debut, “Eye to the Telescope,” Tunstall has delivered chart-topping hits like “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” and “Suddenly I See.” With a powerful stage presence and a musical style that bridges raw acoustic storytelling with fiery rock energy, Tunstall continues to captivate audiences around the globe.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are limited. Ticket prices range from $38.50 to $52.80, which includes ticket service fees. Tickets may be purchased at wccmt.org, at the ticket office or by calling 756-1400.
