Lakers A split a pair with Helena
Down to their final three outs, Beau Schultz hit a 2-run single for a 10-9 walk-off win for the Kalispell A Lakers over the Helena Reps in game one of a doubleheader in American Legion baseball on Saturday.
Helena took game two 7-2, scoring six runs in the seventh inning at Griffin Field.
Schultz finished game one with four RBIs. Tait Orme went 4-for-4 with three doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. George Schwan started the game for the Lakers (2-4), lasting four innings with six hits and six runs, two of them earned. Jake Hale earned the win, pitching a scoreless seventh.
Deagan Solan hit a double and a triple for the Reps (2-2), scored three runs and drove in two. River Evans started the game for Helena, allowing eight hits and seven runs across four innings. Judah Evans earned the loss, allowing three runs, only one of them earned.
Helena returned the favor in game two with the big rally in the seventh inning.
After the Lakers walked the bases loaded, Tanner Steen singled home two runs to give the Reps the lead. Another walk and a hit by pitch reloaded the bases before Reddick Richardson cleared them with a triple.
Evan Duvall picked up the win, no-hitting the Lakers over the final four frames. Deagan Solan started the game and allowed two hits, two runs, one of them earned.
Miles Arrowsmith took the bump for the Lakers, allowed only one hit with four earned runs. He walked four batters and struck out 10 across 6 1-3 innings. Dillon Wink doubled and Jake Hale singled for the only Kalispell hits.
