Polson gets combined no-hitter
PLAINS — Carson Emerson, Mitchell Kauley and Caleb Gfroerer combined for a complete game no-hitter as the Polson Pirates beat Plains-Hot Springs 10-0 in high school baseball Monday night.
Emerson opened the game for the Pirates (11-4), going two innings with three strikeouts. Kauley took over for one inning, walking two, and Gfroerer pitched the final four innings with one walk and two strikeouts.
Gfroerer collected two hits, driving in one. Eli Evenson led Polson with two RBIs and a double. Kauley added a hit and an RBI.
The Savage Horsemen (1-12) lost their seventh straigh.
Noxon-Thompson Falls 5, Bigfork 4
NOXON — Shane Hatchel earned the win and drove in two runs at the dish as the Noxon-Thompson Falls Red Devils knocked off the Bigfork Vikings in a back-and-forth game.
Hatchel finished with a line of two hits, one earned run and struck out five across four innings. Bryson McCormick pitched the final three frames for the Red Devils (5-9), allowing one hit and one earned run. McCormick added two hits, including a double and drove in one.
Sam Plummer singled home a run for the Vikings (9-5) in the top of the seventh inning and Hayden Mayer was hit by a pitch to load the bases with the gap 5-4. McCormick got a fly out to left to end it.
Wyatt Hickey and Holland Jantzen collected the other hits for Bigfork. Both scored once. Ryeln Rodriguez added an RBI on a fielder’s choice in the fifth.
