Whitefish wine and food fest supports kids activities
The Rocky Mountain Rendezvous: Project Whitefish Wine and Food Fest is May 8 at 6 p.m.
For the last 34 years, Whitefish has hosted the annual wine tasting, food festival and auction. This year’s event, themed Island Luau, will be held at Grouse Mountain Lodge. The annual event raises much-needed funds to support kids in our community through sports and the performing arts. All proceeds from this benefit go to Project Whitefish Kids, the organization that maintains the Smith Fields Sports Complex for several sports teams, and the Whitefish Theatre Company.
The food is always superb with a fine sampling of cuisines from local restaurants including Mambo’s, Logan’s Grill at Grouse, Ed McGrew’s Barbeque, Latitude 48, Last Chair Kitchen & Bar, Fleur Bake Shop, and Whitefish Lake Restaurant. Summit Beverage always makes wine tasting a delight, providing a wonderful selection of wines and introducing new varieties for tasters to sample. Craft beer will also be provided by Blackstar Brewing Company.
A silent and live auction highlights the evening with lots of exciting items available this year. Auction items include a Golden Knights Las Vegas package, a weekend getaway near the Trail of the Hiawatha, two nights in a geodesic dome in the North Fork, a raft trip and dinner for six, a three-night stay at the Ponderosa Tree House on Big Mountain, a private movie party at The O’Shaughnessy Center, sporting equipment, wine, baskets from local businesses, restaurant gift certificates, theatre tickets, and much, much more! Local businesses and individuals have generously donated all of these items. As a special treat, John Dunnigan and David Walburn will be playing music during the evening with Cody Hoon and Mikey Winn acting as the event’s emcees.
Seating is limited to 150. Tickets are $100 per person and include all food and beverages. Tickets can be purchased at the O’Shaughnessy Center Box Office and online at www.whitefishtheatreco.org.
