T-Falls rallies past Troy at Western B softball
FLORENCE — Thompson Falls took advantage of four errors and two walks to score three times in the seventh inning, rallying past Troy 7-5 at the Western B Divisional softball tournament Thursday.
Thompson Falls advanced to a Friday semifinal against Florence, which beat Plains-Hot Springs 15-1 on Thursday.
Troy (15-7) has a loser-out game with Plains at 10 a.m.; the Lady Trojans need to win two games to advance to the State B tournament next week in Glasgow.
In Thursday’s late games, Three Forks beat Ennis 19-11 and Mission-Arlee-Charlo beat Anaconda 13-2.
Annalise Fairbank was one of three Blue Hawks to reach via error to start the seventh inning; she scored the go-ahead run on a passed ball.
Thompson Falls won despite getting out-hit 11-2; the Blue Hawks used four walks, a hit batter and an error to score four times in the third inning as well.
Down 4-1, Troy rallied to lead 5-4 on Halle Wallace’s solo home run in the fifth inning. Wallace had an RBI single as well, while teammate Tana Grant supplied an RBI double. Ellie Borgmann supplied two RBI groundouts for the Lady Trojans.
In its half of the seventh, Troy loaded the bases with one out but didn’t score.
Wallace threw two innings in the circle, allowing four walks; Lindsey Gravier threw the last five, allowing two hits and three walks. She fanned six.
MAC 13, Anaconda 2
Maddy Hanken hit two doubles and drove in four runs and GG Hawk hit a two-run home run as MAC took down the Copperheads in five innings.
Alecia Steele also drove in two run. Steele, Avia Lee and Jada Domebeo all scored twice.
