Range Riders win opening series against Voyagers
The Glacier Range Riders used a combined five pitchers to hold the Great Falls Voyagers to three runs as they took the opening series at Glacier Bank Park, 4-games-to-2 with a 6-3 win in the series finale Sunday.
Logan Beard went 2-for-2 with a double, a run scored and an RBI out of the cleanup spot for the Range Riders (4-2). TJ Clarkson, Kenneth Levari and Kingston Liniak each scored and drove in a run, with Levari and Liniak’s leaving the yard.
Rayne Supple took the bulk of the innings for the Range Riders, pitching four innings with two hits and no earned runs allowed, striking out six. Supple came in relief of Jason Franks who started the game and Eldridge Armstrong III who each pitched 1 2-3 innings.
Rile Preece drove in all three runs for the Voyagers (2-4) on his fifth inning 3-run home run, and added a double.
After dropping Saturday’s game to the Voyagers, the win on Sunday gave first time coach Todd Pratt his first series win. The Range Riders will now head to Missoula for a six-game series with the PaddleHeads beginning on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m.
