Cradle to Grave clothing tours scheduled at Conrad Mansion

| May 29, 2025 12:00 AM

Conrad Mansion’s clothing tour, Cradle to Grave: Fashions for life’s passages between 1881 and the 1970s, starts in June.

Join volunteer curator of textiles, Teresa Knutson, on a guided tour of the mansion’s remarkable garment collection. Each year, Knutson creates a new historic clothing exhibit focusing on 19th- and 20th-century fashion. In this exhibit, she focuses on clothing worn to celebrate birth, coming of age, and marriage in addition to clothing worn to memorialize the end of life.

Through fashion, Knutson tells stories of the era and the story of the Conrad family, who moved into the mansion in 1895.

The special fashion tours will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on the last Thursday of every month through September at the Conrad Mansion Museum, 330 Woodland Ave., Kalispell. Optional question-and-answer sessions will be held after each tour, and light refreshments will be served.

Tours are family-friendly, but it is recommended that children under 10 do not attend.

Tickets are $30 and may be purchased online at conradmansion.com, or eventbrite.com. All proceeds benefit the Conrad Mansion Museum.
