Law roundup: Bystander bickers with officer
A bystander reportedly argued with a Kalispell Police Department officer about a notice placed on a parked vehicle stating it had moved within 72 hours.
A woman confined a neighbor’s mastiff in a vehicle after it was reportedly involved in a fight with two other dogs and their own dog, which was limping. The dog had previously come onto the property at least five times since August and had allegedly chased horses. The dog was impounded at the shelter. Its owner was ticketed for one count of dog at-large and one count of vicious dog, both first offenses.
A welfare check was reportedly requested by someone who was concerned about the safety of children whose relative they previously reported for making vague threats toward CPS and law enforcement if they returned to his residence. The man was reportedly argumentative and began rambling that Trump was coming to town, something about the Big Dipper, and that CPS and the police would be out of jobs soon.
Police responded to an alleged head-on crash involving a vehicle and a parked car. No injuries were reported.
A driver was stopped for a stop sign violation.
Another driver was warned about speeding and having expired vehicle registration.
A phone was turned in to the police. The owner was contacted.
