Whitefish holds Future-Ready Homes Fair
The Whitefish Climate Action Plan Standing Committee will host the Future-Ready Homes Fair in Whitefish on Nov. 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event will include keynote speaker Andy Masa, energy services supervisor with Flathead Electric Cooperative, as well as a panel discussion and breakout sessions with local experts on solar, battery storage, heat pumps, electric cars and more. The event will conclude with an energy-smart home tour.
Attendees can gather real-world advice about home upgrades that save energy and money.
“If you are curious about energy-saving innovations in heating, cooling, solar, batteries, and appliances for your home and how they can save you money, plan to attend,” said Robin Paone, a local volunteer helping to organize the event.
“Here in The Flathead, we’re facing a growing demand for electricity,” said Tammy Zamoyski, CAP committee member and community resiliency long range planner for the city of Whitefish. “Events like these help educate members of our community on how to ease electricity demand while at the same time benefiting household budgets.”
The free public event will be at Whitefish City Hall, 418 E. Second St. Booths will be open all morning starting at 8:30 a.m. The keynote address and expert panel discussion begins at 9 a.m. Workshops begin at 10:30 a.m. The City Hall portion of the event concludes at noon and moves to a home tour from noon to 1 p.m.
