Law roundup: Neighbor makes a noise about music
A Kalispell Police officer crashed an alleged house party after someone called multiple times complaining about the loud music, which the officer could hear from across the street. The officer gave the homeowner a verbal warning for violating the “disorderly house” city ordinance, saying a ticket would be next if officers had to return.
A woman was booked into jail after reportedly throwing things at her boyfriend, hitting in the face with an air freshener bottle. She claimed that he threatened her with guns, but had difficulty providing specifics other than an AR-style weapon was stashed in the closet.
Someone reportedly heard a couple yelling, crying and banging around. The commotion began at 10 p.m. and continued through to their call to police at nearly 4 a.m. Both parties were allegedly confrontational with officers and described the disturbance as an argument. But the man reportedly had scratches and blood on his face, and the woman had some redness in her face and blood on her lip, which they said was possibly done by their dog. The man claimed the disturbance was a “normal marriage argument.” Both reportedly said they felt safe going back into the home, as neither had a place to go.
An employee reportedly found a needle on a chair and was suspicious that it belonged to a couple of people who were acting funny and had been sitting in the seat. They asked officers to walk through the building.
The possibly intoxicated driver of a Nissan Frontier was spotted driving in circles in a parking lot before heading toward Woodland Park.
An assistant manager asked officers to move along a loiterer with a black eye who was standing by the main entrance after he was told to leave multiple times and was met with, “Go ahead and call the cops.”
