Concerned that a man taking down a sign displaying the speed limit was doing so without permission, a passerby alerted the Kalispell Police Department. The man was wearing a jacket and vest as well as a hat and did not seem like a member of a construction crew, the passerby reported. But looks can be deceiving and the man turned out to be a construction worker. He was relocating the sign as part of a nearby construction project.

A two-vehicle wreck on Fourth Avenue West blocked traffic. No one was injured.

Someone phoned the police, annoyed when a group of teens driving recklessly near a school drop-off zone were "unresponsive to safety education." They offered to provide the license plate number of the offending vehicle as well as footage of the risky behavior. Officers later attempted to contact the registered owner of the vehicle, but to no avail.

A dog reportedly killed a cat. The person who made the accusation said they had a history with the canine and were looking for advice.

Touting their husband's law enforcement experience, a woman told the police that the couple was pretty sure that a nearby parking lot was turning into an open-air drug market. A group of men they described as Hispanic were hanging out around several vehicles and passing around what looked to be candy, though the couple suspected the treats were illicit in nature.

Store employees sought a lifetime ban for an alleged shoplifter.

A traffic stop ended with a woman going to the county jail.

Apparently, having hit a writer's block of some kind, a man snagged a package of pens and an energy drink from a store and ducked out without paying. Employees estimated the store's loss at $4.25.

Spotting a truck left parked with both doors wide open, a passerby decided to investigate. When they saw that the ignition was torn apart, they called the police, concerned that the vehicle had been stolen. Officers got ahold of the registered owner's wife, who said he had met up with friends and gone off hunting that morning. The ignition always looks like that, she said.
