Two children taken to hospital after inflatable slide tips at Canvas Church event
Two children were taken to the hospital after an inflatable slide tipped over at Canvas Church’s Middle School All Nighter event on Nov. 14 in Kalispell.
The pair, suffering from mild injuries, were taken to Logan Health Medical Center via ambulance sometime between 11:30 p.m., Nov. 14 and midnight, according to Kalispell Fire Department Capt. Mike Chappuis.
First responders tended to multiple patients before releasing them to their parents, Chappuis said.
Video of the incident’s aftermath shared with the Daily Inter Lake showed a large inflatable slide turned completely on its side. Three children could be seen lying and kneeling on the ground beside the inflatable. One person was lying on their back, groaning in pain while holding a knee. Another was lying on the ground nearby with an adult crouched over them.
Canvas Church did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
The Middle School All Nighter is held every year and offered to sixth through eighth grade students. The most recent one began at 7 p.m. on Nov. 14 and ended at 7 a.m. the next day, according to Canvas Church’s Facebook page.
Activities at the event included sumo suit wrestling, hype worship, a Nerf battle course, karaoke and video games.
