A caller asked Kalispell Police Department officers to check on the welfare of a man standing off the highway and laughing. It was cold and he was purportedly only wearing underwear and earbuds, and his skin looked very red. Officers contacted the man on the bike path on the east side, and although he wasn’t wearing a shirt, he was wearing shorts and was feeling fine.

Someone recklessly driving a white Toyota Highlander eastbound on U.S. 2 allegedly went into a ditch before getting back onto the road, where they were unable to stay in their lane, according to a caller who claimed the vehicle had already hit a sign, damaging the front bumper. The driver's abilities reportedly improved while going through a roundabout; however, the ordeal was still concerning.

A man described as wearing an “Elmer Fudd-type hat” with ear flaps reportedly peed in front of a truck parked by an ice cream shop. The person calling in the incident said the truck doors were open and they allegedly saw open beer cans in the cup holders, a bolt-action rifle in the front passenger seat, a 3-year-old child in the back and dogs in crates. The pair allegedly went into the ice cream shop, leaving the doors open and the truck running. When the pair returned to the vehicle, the caller, who asked officers to check on the child’s welfare, said a woman got into the driver’s seat.

An assistant manager called the police, claiming that police were supposed to be doing extra patrols in the area, but he didn’t see any officers and there was a man trespassing in the building who had previously been kicked out.

Someone reportedly broke into a man’s truck that had been parked by an automotive repair shop for weeks and stole “thousands of dollars of hunting gear,” including a gun, hunting boots and a Garmin GPS. The manager and owner planned to continue reviewing security footage as he was certain footage of the suspect existed, but he couldn’t recall what day or time.
