Straight out of a Halloween slasher flick, a caller told the Kalispell Police Department that a man armed with a pickax had threatened to kill him. The caller described the would-be pickax murderer as an older man with gray hair who usually sits on the street corner and yells at people. Officers found the man and deposited him in the county jail.

A worker told the authorities that his dog had run off from his North Kalispell job site. The dog was friendly, he said, and gave the police his contact information in case anyone came across his pooch. He called back a little while later after reuniting with the pet.

Officers searched for an older model red Toyota 4Runner with significant damage to the front passenger side after it allegedly ran a red light and struck a Toyota Tacoma.

The driver of a white Volkswagen earned a citation for failing to yield, an error that ended in a collision with a Toyota Tundra.

A property owner requested that the police ban a homeless man from their land after they found him sleeping on the porch again.

Tired of looking at her neighbor's collection of vehicles in the street, a resident phoned the police and asked them to intervene. She told officers that at least one of the vehicles, a white Jeep, hadn't moved in months. She also said that the vehicles' owner bragged about their relationship with police officers and how those officers passed along the names of anyone who complained about them. Officers scoped out the situation and determined that the vehicles were parked legally and appeared in running condition.

Freaked out by one or more mischief makers ringing her doorbell overnight, a resident asked officers to mount extra patrols in the neighborhood.

A resident reminded officers about a red and white Hillman with no plates on the street that they had stickered several days ago and requested the vehicle be towed.

Someone turned in a passport and Social Security card to the Police Department.

The police tracked down a white Ford Ranger that another motorist accused of performing burnouts, but the pickup was empty when they found it. Officers left a voicemail with the registered owner.

Authorities were tasked with tracking down a rust-colored Ford F-150 and a black Audi after someone complained they were drag racing.
