Superior High School seniors mark their spot
Fourteen seniors at Superior High School have a designated parking place this school year which they designed and painted themselves. These are reserved only during school hours and open to anyone to use for school events. (Monte Turner/Mineral Independent)
Superior High School seniors spent a Friday evening and Saturday morning marking their personalized parking spots as a fundraiser for the endo of school event.
Designs were approved by the Superior High School Administration for the 14 parking places in front of the school that mark a reserved location for a senior. The paint will be power-washed by juniors next spring and their artwork will replace it for the 2026-2027 school year. (Monte Turner/Mineral Independent)
Remember senior year? Maybe it was marked by spirited pranks, painted hillsides or the anticipation of senior photos.
For the Class of 2026 at Superior High School, the year begins with a new and colorful tradition: custom painted parking spots.
