Stocks rise as Wall Street flirts with another record

NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks are rising on Monday ahead of a week with several data reports that could dictate by how much or even whether the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates at its next meeting in a week.

The S&P 500 added 0.4% and was just above its record set last week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 69 points, or 0.2%, as of 11 a.m. Eastern time, and the Nasdaq composite was 0.8% higher.
