DILLON — Bigfork running back Treker Hickey ran 25 for 179 yards and two touchdowns, and the Vikings beat the Dillon Beavers 14-7 in a non-conference Class A football Friday night.

Bigfork (2-1), coached by former Dillon assistant and player Hunter Johnson, rode Hickey to the win over a perennial State A power — though the Beavers fell to 0-3 with the loss.

The senior got Bigfork on the board with a 24-yard scoring run at 4:25 of the first quarter, and the Vikings took a 7-0 lead into halftime.

Dillon drew even with a 20-yard burst from quarterback Canin Christiansen in the third quarter, but Bigfork answered that with a 75-scoring drive capped by a 10-yard touchdown from Hickey.

Dillon got as close at the Bigfork 27-yard line in the fourth quarter, on a 36-yard catch and run by No. 2. But the Beavers turned the ball over on downs with 6:40 left and Bigfork was able to run out the clock.

Christiansen was 18 of 26 passing for 237 yards for Dillon and ran five times for 19 yards. Bigfork held the Beavers to 72 rushing yards on 23 carries, while piling up 194 yards rushing, including 36 on eight carries for Tayden West.

Bigfork QB Cole Schmit was 11 of 21 passing for 108 yards.

On defense Walker Willis had a sack and Hickey made 8.5 tackles. Alex Ochs and Dane Carlsen combined for 8.5 stops as well.
