Volleyball Roundup: Glacier wins in 5 Saturday

HELENA — Allie Krueger had 20 kills, Avaieh Thomas added 19 and Glacier picked up a five-set Western AA volleyball win at Helena Capital Saturday. 

Madi Stevens came up with 50 set assists for the Wolfpack, which prevailed 25-20, 17-25, 25-23, 23-25, 15-13. 

Krueger added five blocks and Stevens had two for Glacier (2-7 overall, 1-1 in league). Grace Lingle added another nine kills.

Helena def. Flathead, 3-1 

HELENA — Three Helena players reached double figures in kills and the Bengals downed Flathead in four sets Saturday. 

Addison Thornsberry had eight kills and three blocks for the Bravettes. Anna Bain had 25 assists and two aces.

Kills — Flathead 31 (Addison Thornsberry 8), Helena 48 (Lauryn Lieberg 15, Sammy Knutson 14). Assists — Flathead 28 (Anna Bain 25), Capital 45 (Avery Peterson 41). Digs — Flathead 50 (Katie Manning 17), Helena 60 (Peterson 16). Blocks — Flathead 7 (Olivia Neva 4, Makenna Aldrich 3, Thornsberry 3), Helena 5 (Ella McCarthy 4). Whitefish splits matches 

WHITEFISH — Camry Kelch was strong from the service line and at the net, helping Whitefish split a pair of volleyball matches Saturday. 

Kelch had eight kills, eight digs and seven aces as Whitefish sept Corvalis 25-10, 25-22, 25-10. Annabell Barrile also had eight kills in the win. 

Stella Frisbee had three blocks; Allie Shors had 25 assists and seven digs. 

Kelch had 10 kills and 21 digs in the Bulldogs’ 25-18, 25-22, 21-25, 25-17 loss to Hamilton. Eleabir Archie had 22 digs and Barrille 21 digs and eight kills in that one. 

Shores had 30 assists to go with four kills; Frisby had four blocks to go with four kills. 

“A great day of growth,” Whitefish coach Addy Connelly said. “The Bulldogs fought hard against Hamilton playing some truly gritty ball. Camry Kelch led our offense today and served an amazing 16 points in game three against Corvallis.” 

“Allie Shors led our offense well mixing it up for the hitters. Eleanor Archie didn’t let anything hit the floor. An all-around great day.”
