Winkler, Schmautz lead Pack girls over Butte, 10-0
Gracie Winkler and Avi Schmautz had had tricks and the Glacier girls beat Butte High 10-0 in Western AA soccer Friday at the Glacier High fields.
Winler scored twice, off feeds from Neve Travis and Caitryn Vanderbilt-Vloedt, in the first five minutes, and Schmautz’ first goal made it 3-0 just eight minutes in.
Travis, Addi Brisendine, Kylie Shine and Emma Allen also found the net for the Wolfpack; Brisendine had an assist, as did Winkler and Shine; Haily Fiala assisted on two of Schmautz’s goals.
Glacier (3-3-1 overall, 2-2-1 in the Western AA) outshot the Bulldogs 31-1.
“Put a full match in today,” coach Doug Mello said. “Everyone contributed. We are finally finding our rhythm. We are looking forward to the second half of the season.”
The Wolfpack’s next action is another Crosstown match with Flathead, on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Legends Stadium.
