LIBBY — Columbia Falls trailed twice Saturday, before Jackson Scholz’ second goal in the 63rd minute broke a 2-2 tie and the Wildcats went on to take a 4-2 win over Libby in Northwest A boys soccer.

The Wildkat girls, getting two goals each from Tatiana Raymond and Onnika Lawrence, completed the sweep with a 7-0 win.

Libby’s boys were outshot 19-7 but still jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a goal from Jonathon Cano 24 minutes in. The Loggers went ahead 2-1 when Cano found the net again early in the second half.

Scholz’ first goal tied the match 1-1, and Columbia Falls drew even again when Jack Harris scored one minute after Cano’s second goal.

After Scholz put Columbia Falls ahead 3-2, Harris got his second goal to put the game away in the 73rd minute.

“For a team to come from behind at any point in the match takes character,” Columbia Falls coach O’Brien Byrd said. “For a team to come back from being down twice during the match takes character, discipline, and belief.  Couldn’t be more proud of this young team.”

Scholz and Brady Bell had assists for the Wildcats.
