3 pick-6s key Whitefish's win over Ronan

WHITEFISH — Cooper Akey caught two touchdown passes — three if you count his pick-6 — to help Whitefish beat Ronan 65-0 in Northwest A football Friday.

Akey’s 28-yard pick-6 was the first of three interception returns for touchdowns by the Bulldogs and put Whitefish (3-1 overall, 1-0 in league) up 14-0.  

Jordan Harmon and Sam Rainford had the others. 

The hosts piled up 37 points in the first quarter, getting a touchdown running and throwing from Luke Dalen, plus a safety against the Chiefs (0-5, 0-1). 

Following the safety, Vlad Shestak returned the ensuing free kick 60 yards for a score. 

Vance Schwaiger added a 31-yard scoring run for the Bulldogs; he picked up 96 yards on just three carries. Dalen ran for 42 yards and was 5 of 5 passing for another 80.  

Colt Moss also had a scoring run for Whitefish.
