C-Falls girls soccer best Bigfork

COLUMBIA FALLS — Riley Byrd scored as the Columbia Falls girls downed Bigfork 1-0 in Northwest A soccer Thursday. 

Byrd’s goal in the 14th minute came off an assist from Onnikka Lawrence. 

“It was a gritty win for our program, and I’m so proud of all of our girls for battling for 80 minutes,” Wildkats coach Thomas Clark said. “We knew it would take a great full game performance from the entire team and they brought it.”   

The Wildkats outshot the Valkyries 26-9, Irelynd Vigil had 24 saves for Bigfork.

Bell scored opener three minutes after the halftime break with an assist from Scholz. 

Scholz sealed the victory with a 76th minute unassisted tally.
