Montana State routs Eastern Washington

BOZEMAN — The Bobcat offense is back in form.

Justin Lamson threw for 270 yards and Adam Jones added 72 on the ground as Montana State rolled past Eastern Washington 57-3 Saturday at Bobcat Stadium.

Jones’ 72 yards on 10 carries was a part of 293 yards on the ground from Montana State (3-2 overall, 1-0 in Big Sky games), who outgained the Eagles (1-4, 0-1 BSC) 580-207. Colson Coon added 71 yards on 6 rushes.

Lamson finished the day 13-for-20 with three touchdowns, including a 43-yard touchdown to Hunter Provience and a 45-yard score to Taco Dowler. Dowler led the receiving corps with 64 yards on three catches.

Adam Jones put Montana State on the board first with a 3-yard run early in the first quarter. Lamson found Provience and Dowler for two more scores before Myle Sansted’s 43-yard field goal made it 24-0 before the first frame ended.

Eastern found their lone points in the second quarter as Soren McKee put a 21-yard kick through the uprights.

Jabez Woods made it 30-3 at the break with a 28-yard reception from Lamson.

In the second half the Bobcat running game found the end zone four times. Colby Frokjer ran in from 26 yards out before Jones broke off a 37-yard touchdown scamper.

Coon added a score from 1 yard away before Chance Wilson capped off the day with a 32-yard run.
