Law roundup: Pets perish in kitchen fire

The Kalispell Police Department responded to a report of dark black smoke coming out of a home Sunday morning. Firefighters reportedly extinguished a small fire in the kitchen area. While firefighters knocked down the fire, animal control was called to assist with about six cats and five dogs.  Animal control reportedly transported two deceased dogs, two deceased cats and three deceased birds to the Flathead County Animal Shelter and provided contact information to the owner to arrange end-of-life services.  

A man allegedly called the police requesting an ambulance thinking he ran over a man wearing dark clothing, lying in a parking lot. The man was conscious and breathing.
