Montana term limits make sure nobody keeps the crown
As a former Montana state representative who served four terms and then termed out — eight calendar years that add up to about one year of actual session days — I’m compelled to respond to Rep. Zach Wirth’s recent editorial implying Rep. Llew Jones is using a “loophole” in term limits to run for the Senate.
If Zach Wirth wants to talk about “loopholes,” he should start by reading what voters actually passed in 1992 with Constitutional Initiative 64, the measure that created Montana’s legislative term limits.
