Speaking out

My stomach twisted in knots and tears sprung to my eyes when I read the intimate description of the assault allegedly committed by high school wrestlers.

Thank you, Mr. Vergeront, for being brave and coming forward with your story. The voices calling these types of actions what they are — assaults — need to be louder than the voices saying, “boys will be boys,” because, unfortunately, you are not alone. Too many men have to work through assaults that happened under the guise of the “boys will be boys” culture.

Thank you for working to change this. Thank you for being brave.

Greenland’s minerals

Journalist are calling 2025 the year of lies by President Donald Trump and his administration.

Take Venezuela as an example. Trump campaigned on no more U.S. involvement in foreign wars or regime changes. Trump started bombing Venezuelan boats claiming to protect U.S. citizens from drugs when in truth it was an excuse to remove Maduro from power and take over Venezuelan oil.

Now we have a similar situation with Greenland.  Trump claims he wants to have Greenland for strategic security. The U.S. has had military personnel and military bases in Greenland since 1940 to provide security for the U.S. and our NATO allies.

What Trump really wants is Greenland’s rare earth minerals. It would be cheaper in the long run to buy the minerals instead of invading Greenland and possibly starting World War III.

Contact your congressmen and plead we do not need to invade Greenland.
