Law roundup: Man judged after walking a mile in stolen shoes
Store security called the Kalispell Police Department after a man wearing a black jacket and tan pants reportedly swapped his shoes for a new pair without paying. The man took his time in the store, using the restroom by the electronics department and then perusing the merchandise in the men’s clothing department.
A woman became suspicious of a white car that would allegedly park in front of her vehicle on First Street and would leave when she went into the building where she worked. She asked officers to do extra patrols in the area, specifying the times and weekdays when the car made an appearance. Officers told her to call back if she saw the car again.
A scammer claiming they were law enforcement reportedly conned as much as $1,200 out of woman in the form of gift cards. She told the police the individual had repeatedly called her over two days and had contacted her bank about the matter, which informed her it was a scam.
An alleged repeat offender shoplifted about $21 worth of goods and left in a white Honda pickup. A manager told officers they got his license plate number and had security footage ready for police to pick up.
An employee complained about a silver Toyota Camry oddly parked in the lot. The employee called the police again when the car returned and a woman went into the bathroom and didn’t come out, making employees uncomfortable. Officers told the woman she was banned from the street, the parking lot and all the businesses within it.
Extension cords, propane tanks, drills and a heater were reported stolen from a construction site. More items were discovered missing when officers arrived at the location.
Officers warned a driver for having expired vehicle registration.
