Law roundup: Driver needs to reverse reckless antics

A Kalispell Police officer stopped and ticketed a reckless driver after they drove in reverse the length of a parking lot where people and other vehicles were present. The officer advised him and his three passengers of a trespassing complaint, telling them not to hang out here anymore.  

A woman left someone’s unit and called the police, alleging that two men and a pregnant woman were reportedly fighting inside. The caller was heard yelling, “Are you leaving fat dude?” by the dispatcher who told her not to talk to him and go inside her own unit. She didn’t want an officer to contact her and mentioned that she had mouth cancer. 

An employee reportedly thought an unhappy looking child needed help after she came into the store with two men.  She said the girl, who looked to be age 6, tucked her thumb into her fist and pointed her knuckles toward the ground while making eye contact with the employee, which she told police was a gesture she saw on TikTok that meant “help.”  

The girl allegedly got into a truck with one of the men and blew on the window and wrote “help” in the steam. The employee said she would talk to the store owner about getting security footage or names if they appeared on the transactions. 

A dog was reportedly tied outside for three days with no slack in the chain and no food or water. 

Someone called the police concerned about flooding, reporting that about 12 to 16 inches of water was not draining and was about to reach a power box. The Kalispell Public Works Department reportedly advised police that there was nothing they could do as the drain was not hooked into a storm system. 

A woman in a store dressing room was allegedly suspected of shoplifting clothes by putting them on underneath her own very baggy outfit. The store manager asked officers to kick her off the property and direct her to return the items.
