Poster Player of the Week: Bigfork's Hayden Mayer

by KEEPING SCORE PODCAST
PODCAST | June 3, 2026 8:05 AM

This week’s Poster Player of the Week, presented by Corwin Motors, goes to Bigfork senior Hayden Mayer after helping lead the Vikings to the first state baseball championship in program history.

Mayer delivered one of the biggest performances of the season Saturday in Polson, throwing a complete game while driving in four runs in Bigfork’s 7-2 win over previously unbeaten Dillon in the Class A-B state championship game.

The senior broke the game open in the third inning with a go-ahead three-run double before adding another RBI later as Bigfork finished off a postseason run that included wins over defending champion Billings Central, Frenchtown and Dillon.

Mayer finished 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs and two runs scored while repeatedly working through traffic on the mound to keep the Vikings in control.

Congratulations again to Hayden Mayer for winning this week’s Poster Player of the Week honors, and best of luck the rest of your way.
