Johnson, Missoula down A Lakers in doubleheader

MISSOULA — Uriah Johnson hit a pair of doubles in game one of a doubleheader sweep for the Missoula A Mavericks over the Kalispell A Lakers. 


Johnson’s doubles came as the Mavericks put up a pair of seven-run innings in a 20-6 game one win. Missoula finished the sweep with a 13-2 victory. 


Alex Darnell’s RBI single highlighted the Mavericks (3-1) first inning surge to take a 7-0 lead.  


Josh Shepherd knocked in two more runs to start the seven-run third for Missoula. 


Kalispell (1-2) found three runs in the fourth to keep the game alive on two wild pitches and an error. 


Chase Neadeau had a pair of hits for the A Lakers. 


Lincoln Chamberlain went four innings for Missoula, striking out two.  


In game two, Emery Hampson had two hits for Missoula, scoring three runs. 


Nadeau had an RBI for the A Lakers, while Blake Paulsen and Luke Driear had two hits each. 


Walter Gardner went three innings for Kalispell, allowing four hits and striking out one. 


Kaleb Zenner went all five innings for Missoula, allowing two runs on four hits and fanning four.
