Crash on Trumble Creek kills Kalispell woman
Alcohol and drugs are suspected factors in a crash that killed a 40-year-old Kalispell woman Monday evening on Trumble Creek Road in Flathead County.
The single-vehicle wreck at 9:17 p.m. involved a Jeep Liberty driven by a 55-year-old Kalispell man, according to a Montana Highway Patrol report.
The SUV was traveling south on Trumble Creek Road near Birch Grove Road when the driver reportedly lost control and crossed the center line. The vehicle left the roadway, entered a ditch, went airborne and crashed into a tree.
The female passenger, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. The driver was wearing a seat belt, according to the report, and was taken to Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell with injuries.
Road conditions were bare and dry at the time of the crash.
