Law roundup: Dog isn’t having a rollicking good time
A dog at the mercy of a reckless driver was getting tossed around in the back as he sped and passed other motorists recklessly, screaming out his window and leaving them in a cloud of black smoke before turning on Sunnyview Lane and onto Windward Way.
A man claiming to be a state inspector allegedly opened a woman’s apartment door without permission, saying he was there for an inspection and upon realizing it wasn’t a business, left, pushing someone out of the way. The property manager reportedly went ballistic over the intrusion and started yelling about Castle Doctrine, shooting trespassers and encouraging residents to defend themselves. She allegedly opted to file a formal complaint with the inspector's boss.
A security guard called the police to report a suspicious white pickup that allegedly had notes in the window that stated, “Don’t cut my brake lines,” and “Someone cut my brake lines.” They described the truck as having a Virginia license plate, truck tires and a bicycle in the back, a gas can inside and no passenger seat.
The occupants of an older Subaru and camper parked on Glenwood Drive allegedly thought they could make their problems disappear by ripping off stickered notices to move the vehicles within 72 hours. An officer stuck yet another notice on the vehicles.
Someone requested extra patrols for speeders during school drop-offs.
Someone saw a silver Ram flatbed with its front end wedged against trees and leaking fluid. A tow truck was called. No injuries were reported.
A tenant complained to police that the landlord had an electrician on the premises and had a key to his room, which he didn’t want him to have, nor did he want the electrician in his house while he wasn’t there. He was advised that it was a civil issue, informing him of landlord and tenant laws, and to take photos before leaving in case something was damaged or missing.
