A man found unresponsive outside a home on Kalispell's west side on Saturday morning died by suicide, authorities say.

Kalispell Police officers were alerted to the body near the intersection of 10th Avenue West and Second Street West about 5:39 a.m., officials said. About a block of Second Street West was closed throughout the morning as authorities investigated.

"This is a deeply tragic event, and our thoughts are with the individual’s loved ones, as well as all those impacted by this loss," police officials said in a statement. "Incidents like this are a heartbreaking reminder that mental health struggles can affect anyone, and support is available."

Authorities urged anyone struggling to call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, for support.
