Louisiana blues legend Tab Benoit to perform at Wachholz College Center June 5
Grammy-nominated blues guitarist and vocalist Tab Benoit will bring his acclaimed blend of Cajun-influenced blues and fiery guitar work to the Wachholz College Center on Friday, June 5, as part of his Soul of the Swamp Tour.
Known for his passionate performances and deep-rooted connection to the swamp, Benoit is a true master of his craft, boasting over 20 releases that showcase his unique artistry. With iconic radio hits like "Nice and Warm" and "Cross the Line" from his 90s recordings, critics have often described Benoit's voice as "Otis Redding-ish," while his guitar playing is celebrated for its originality and distinctive style.
Benoit is also widely recognized for his passionate environmental advocacy through Voice of the Wetlands, a nonprofit organization he co-founded to raise awareness about the preservation of Louisiana’s coastal wetlands.
His latest record, “I Hear Thunder” recorded in 2024, showcases not only his artistic brilliance but also his profound commitment to environmental advocacy, a legacy that extends beyond the stage into the heart of the land that inspires his bluesy soul.
