Law roundup: Woman steps away from stealing
A store employee allegedly watched a woman put a pair of shoes in her backpack. They dialed 911 but ultimately hung up. When dispatchers phoned them back, the employee said the woman had put the shoes back on the shelf and left.
A man in a van reportedly pulled over in a parking lot and two men in a pickup rolled up next to him, which perturbed him. He called the Kalispell Police Department, claiming they were following him and had tried to open his door while he was sleeping. The men told officers they were unaware they were following the man, who had left.
A customer reportedly saw a man punch a woman in a gas station parking lot. The woman was later reportedly held at gunpoint near an apartment building. The man was described as sporting a goatee, a black fedora-style hat and glasses with dark frames.
Someone who allegedly witnessed a hit and run expressed concerns to police that the elderly man driving a gray GMC Terrain appeared “very old and confused.”
Students were allegedly following a woman’s child, and she told police they had been suspended from school for the same issues. Officers provided her with a temporary restraining order packet.
