Cheryl Klein of Somers and Horace Sanders of Kalispell, both volunteers with the Rails to Trails of Northwest Montana assemble one of four new signs which will be posted along the trail between Somers and Kalispell on Tuesday. The signs, which were researched by Melissa Sladek and designed by Dave Restivo, were placed at the Somers trail head, near the old ice house, at the intersection of the rail and School Addition Road and near where the trail meets Highway 82. Eleven volunteers worked over three days installing the signs. Three more signs are ready to install as soon as the bypass and trail are completed. Rails to Trails currently runs from Somers to Ashley Creek. It continues from Meredian to Kila. When the trail is finished it will run 22 miles. According to Cheryl Klein after that the plan is to continue extending the trail to Marion.
