| December 1, 2004 1:00 AM

Flathead Valley Community College's continuing education division offers a slate of classes to make the winter months productive.

Students who enroll in "All About Scanners" will learn how to use a digital flatbed scanner and associated software. The class covers scanning text and photos, selecting resolution and download.

Participants also learn to manipulate, print and e-mail images.

The noncredit class meets Dec. 1 and 7 from 6-9 p.m. Enrollment costs $64.

Another course focuses on digital cameras.

In "Working With Digital Cameras," students learn to take photos and distribute them to family and friends quickly and easily.

Course content includes how to take the best digital photos, how to download, manipulate, print and e-mail them.

Students need a working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Windows-compatible software. They must also provide their own digital cameras.

The noncredit class, which costs $94, meets Dec. 8 and 15 from 6-9 p.m.

Another course promises to give students' brains a well-deserved workout.

The community college's "Introduction to Brain Gym" course teaches scientifically researched movements shown to maximize learning.

Endorsed by the National Learning Foundation, Brain Gym is recognized and taught by certified instructors in over 25 countries.

The class meets Dec. 6 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Cost to enroll is $20 per session.
