Roommates, renters and relatives caused problems reported to Flathead County Sheriff's Office.

In Evergreen, a landlord reported rental property was trashed and a 52-inch Sony television was stolen. In Somers, a woman wanted to know if it is legal for her former roommate to throw her belongings outside. Another roommate is suspected in the theft of a bench and remote-controlled car on U.S. 2 East. A man reported his father was ripping the stereo of his car because the father believes the son stole $50 from him.

A traditional lover's triangle expanded to a rectangle, when a woman reported her boyfriend's ex-wife's current boyfriend had threatened children.

A VCR and other items were stolen from a cabin in Essex. An attempted burglary was reported at Ashley Creek Animal Clinic, where there was evidence that someone tried to pry open doors. Someone has been using the credit cards from a wallet that was lost somewhere in the county. A theft was reported at Fastoys on U.S. 2. Two diamond rings were reported stolen. Copper wire was stolen from an electric-company job site.

A 2-year-old boy who swallowed a penny went by private vehicle to the hospital. Deputies were notified that the car would be traveling through town. No one was hurt in a vehicle rollover near Hungry Horse on Tuesday.

The screaming and pleading woman reported on South Cedar Drive couldn't be found.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police brought a swift end to man's 21st birthday celebration. He was arrested for DUI on U.S. 2 and Riley Lane

A man was arrested near the post office for being an intoxicated pedestrian.

A 15-year-old boy went to juvenile detention after he allegedly sideswiped a vehicle parked at Super 1 Foods and then took a portable CD player from it.

Kalispell police

Kalispell police checked out a report that a man carried a hammer on West Idaho. That makes people nervous. The man, however, didn't do anything illegal with the tool and didn't say anything that implied he planned to.

On Second Avenue West North a man reportedly broke into a residence and stole items.

An unruly 12-year-old girl was reported at a girls' shelter.

Two men with two 12-packs of Rolling Rock beer stolen from Smith's resulted in one arrest.

On Liberty Street, someone reported three intoxicated underage men in a residence with a crying infant. Officers found no party and a contentedly sleeping baby.

A dehumidifier valued at $2,000 was stolen on Sixth Avenue West.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police were notified of an unidentified animal spotted high in a tree on Lupfer Avenue. It was described as "kind of orange with dark fur underneath." The animal warden investigated and could find nothing more exotic than a squirrel.

Police went to the Grizzly Den parking lot after midnight when a man caused a disturbance when his truck broke down.

Radios were taken from the construction site of Super 1 Foods. A construction trailer behind the cinemas at Mountain Mall was broken into.

A house on Kalispell Avenue was egged for the third time Tuesday.

Someone used a credit card without the owner's permission at a gas station.

A 34-year-old man expressed his displeasure at Don K Chevrolet by tearing down decorations and carrying on. He was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Alarms

Kalispell fire department had five calls. One was to take a man with a toothache from Rosebriar Inn to the hospital Tuesday. Smith Valley fire department responded with Kalispell and ALERT helicopter was on stand-by for a rollover on Kila Road Monday; there was only one minor injury. An alarm that drew the fire department after midnight to Lowe's was caused by malfunctioning equipment, not a fire.

Smith Valley fire department went to an illegal burn on Rogers Lake Road Monday.

Evergreen fire department handled traffic at a vehicle accident on LaSalle Road Tuesday.
