WHITEFISH - Pat Cheff wanted his team to keep the momentum rolling.
And how they did.
Whitefish used five pins and three forfeits to manhandle Ronan 58-18 in a Class A wrestling dual on Tuesday.
"We came off a good showing at the Polson tournament, had five in the finals, and we wanted to make sure we continued with the momentum," said Cheff.
"That was our main objective tonight. I was excited to see our kids come out with the focus to take care of business."
Posting pins for Whitefish were Matt Starr, 130, Cody Mikesell, 140, Brad Waterud, 145, David Lautaret, 160, and heavyweight Troy Parker.
Winning by forfeits for WHS were Danny Neff at 119, Kevin Kaltschmidt at 125, and Pete Starr at 130.
"The pins were nice, but we had a great match at 152 and also at 171. Brad Kuntz decisioned Ben White 15-11 at 152 and Tim Lehner decisioned R.J. Olsen 18-5 at 171.
Whitefish's next action is Friday and Saturday at the Mining City Duals. The Bulldogs open Friday versus No. 2 ranked Havre at 11 a.m. followed by No. 2 Flathead from AA and then Billings West.
