Flathead High School offers holiday concert

| December 9, 2004 1:00 AM

The classic Gregorian melody, "Ave Maria," the Russian "Carol of the Bells" and the story of the Grinch will be highlights of Flathead High School's holiday choral concert "Songs of the Nativity," Monday and Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will also include the guitar playing of Steve Eckels, Flathead guitar instructor.

The concert will feature five choirs in a fast-paced medley of more than 20 of the most beautiful holiday songs ever, both new and familiar. The program will be the same each night, offered twice in order to allow sufficient seating for the expected audiences in attendance.

There is no admission charge to the concert. Donations are requested toward the United Way holiday fund drive. Flathead High is also holding a drive for the food bank, so audience members can bring non-perishable food items and drop them off in the lobby as they enter.

Flathead High School choir alumni will be invited up to the stage to sing the tradition concert finale, "Peace, Peace" together with the high school singers.

Audience members are encouraged to arrive early for a seat.
