Veteran guitarist brings new band to Whitefish

| December 9, 2004 1:00 AM

The Scott Law Band brings its brand of jazz-inflected groove music to the Dire Wolf Pub in Whitefish on Saturday at 10 p.m.

Scott Law has been creating acoustic and electric music for over two decades, playing at the crossroads of rock, funk and Americana, developing his own improvisational style. Law is a fixture on the club and festival circuits nationwide and has appeared on more than 20 releases to date.

Law has toured and recorded with keyboardist Melvin Seals (formerly of the Jerry Garcia Band) and the eclectic acoustic powerhouse Hanuman. He has frequently appeared jamming with the String Cheese Incident, Leftover Salmon, Living Daylights, the Everyone Orchestra and others.

Law's talents are now used heading up the Scott Law Band. The band may be best described as a cross between The Meters, Jerry Garcia's Legion of Mary and Little Feat's Lowell George with a multi-layered sound for dancing and listening.

There is a $10 cover charge for the show. You must be over 21 to attend.
