Kay Beller, 69

Kay Beller, 69, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 14, 2004.

Kay was born April 6, 1935, in Wapato, Wash., to John Robert and Earlene Paul. She was the second daughter of six girls. In 1942 the family moved to the Flathead Valley, settling in Whitefish.

Kay received her education in Whitefish and graduated from Whitefish High School in 1953. In 1954, she married Bill Beller. Together they raised two daughters, Gail and Kelli.

Kay worked as the bookkeeper in the Whitefish JC Penney store for 23 years. In 1977, she went to work for the city of Whitefish as city clerk and retired in 2000. Shortly after her retirement, the City of Whitefish honored her by dedicating a park in her name.

Kay enjoyed serving on the board of directors of the Whitefish Credit Union and volunteering her time at the Whitefish Historical Society. In 1990 she was honored to serve as First Lady of Whitefish.

She most enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family and friends.

Kay was preceded in death by her father, John Robert Paul; her husband, Bill Beller; and three sisters, Nancy Paul, Janet Ott and Karen Paul.

She is survived by her mother, Earlene Paul; her daughters, Gail Holien and husband, Ray, and Kelli Bowden and husband, Art. Grandchildren are Kristen Holien, Michael and April Holien, Kelli and Jerrod Stephenson, Robert and Emily Bowden; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Jolene Brockel, and Lee and Kathy Paul; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Kay will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20, at Austin Funeral Home.

At the family's request, donations can be made to the Whitefish Historical Society or the Whitefish Food Bank.
